As proof that I still knit socks now and then, I offer these little minis, being modeled here by the big hands of sister Liz. Her friend, Madeline, had a baby girl named Emily about a week ago and these socks are for her. Congrats to mother and baby!

I finished this little scarf so long ago that I had to look on Ravelry to remember exactly when. My Rav notes show that I finished the Sailing Sea Scarf on Dec. 27, 2010 – Is that even possible?!?!? Here I am thinking to myself that I must have cast off a month or so [...]

The weather has been amazing lately but a cold snap is predicted for the week ahead. It’s time to finally finish this scarf for there might be an opportunity yet to actually wear it soon. The problem is this: It never seems long enough. I even finished it once – I mean I actually cast [...]

It’s been bloody cold around here – even for California. Bitter. Luckily I finished this wonderful hat just in time for the freeze. The pattern is called Intuitive and yes it is. Very easy. Very fun to make. As an added bonus it’s also convertible as you can see from the different ways it’s styled [...]

Following Nancy on facebook, I’ve recently been inspired by a couple of her ideas. They’re so simple and easy yet oh so glamorous. For instance, she knit a scarf which she calls Simply Garter on size 17 needles using Rowan Big Wool but also suggested a cheaper version using Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick. [...]

Actually it’s been a rather turbulent week full of emotional highs and lows but all I have to show for it is some knit graffiti I sighted in North Berkeley near my favorite pizza spot. I did buy some Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick to knit a cheap version of one of Nancy’s creations. [...]
