My name is Chris Tolomei and this website is dedicated to my lovely, talented and brilliant daughter Alice.
Alice was a beautiful baby and she has blossomed into a lovely young woman. She was a willful child but full of spirit and life. Alice has a flair for the dramatic but she’s no Drama Queen. She hates it when I call her perky.
Alice is an exceptional young lady who loves reading above all else. She has read certain Harry Potter books as much as five times each. I am certain that she’s going to be a bestselling author.
Did I mention that she is an outstanding athlete? She excels in cross country running and Lacrosse scoring the first goal ever for the Mt. View High School Women’s Team.

When Alice was about 8 years old, she came up to me and told me how much she *loved* her name. That made me feel proud. I have always loved the name Alice. It’s classic and timeless with just a smidgin of fantasty owing, I think, to “Alice in Wonderland”.
A few years later, at about the age of 15, she told me she hated the name Alice and couldn’t remember ever having liked it to begin with. This coming from the girl with the elephantine memory. Like her great-grandmother, Alice remembers everything!
This blog has been my homage to the name “alice thelma” and especially to the beautiful person who holds the name.
One more thing: Unlike her mother, Alice is not the least bit interested in knitting. I remain hopeful.

About me? I’m a manic knitter. A former chain smoker who turned to knitting to keep my hands busy. I now call myself a chain knitter. I’m also a photographer.
Why t-shirts? Because I can’t possibly knit you all a t-shirt although I would like to. It’s physically not possible. If you are as passionate about knitting as I am and you want to show the world, then buy an alice thelma t-shirt today.
