Purpley Goodness: The Ribbed Ribbons socks are finished
Posted on Jul 13, 2009 in knit, knitting, knitting pattern, sock knitting
Continuing the purple theme first advanced by the ADD knitter, I present to you the newly finished “Ribbed Ribbons Socks” which I have (sheepishly) renamed “Ribbed for her pleasure” on my Ravelry projects page.
Like ADD, I also used Malabrigo Sock (which I love!) but in a colorway called Indiecita. Very stretchy and smooshy and soft and yummmmy…you get the picture.
This is the second pair from the Socks for the Toe-up book by Wendy Johnson and though not really difficult pattern per se, they did require me to be tethered to a stitch pattern and often hunched over the size “0” needles in low light. Sometimes excruciating to say the least so I am glad to be finished with them.
Still, they are quite lovely and when the weather turns cooler, I’m sure I will wear them often.
Here’s a shot of my kooky sister Liz modeling them. She’s on her way up north for a three week vacation. Say “Hi “ if you see her around Portland in the next couple of days.
Today is July 13th and it’s also my brother’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Frank!!! Frank works for a wonderful non-profit in San Francisco and on Wednesday we’re traveling to the newly re-modeled California Academy of the Sciences in Golden Gate Park. I’m so excited!!!!! It just happens to be free on the third wednesday of the month so come down and join us.

Our family has a gaggle of birthdays in July. Maybe you’ve noticed. We’re not finished yet.

I love the way your socks turned out! The colorway is perfect for the pattern, it makes your eye dance around =) And I LOLed at “ribbed for her pleasure socks”.

Seems to me you have some neat-looking siblings! And yay for the courage it took to publish the name of the socks. Sometimes we are all too well brought up for our own good.

The Softest, most colorful and they look perfect with blue jeans. How can I get a pair just like them? Like how many dollars? Let me know. Roy
