A big THANKS to Lion Brand Yarn

Carla and Nicole form Lion Brand Yarn

At the risk of sounding like an advertisement, I have to give a big shout out to Carla and Nicole of Lion Brand Yarn for the free yarn I received from them at the Knit and Crochet Show last Sunday. I stopped by to visit my friend Anne at the Afghans for Afghans booth (which was strategically located right next to Lion Brand Yarn) and got there just as Carla and Nicole were handing out yarn. I couldn’t believe my timing and my good luck.

If you are regular reader of this blog, you know that I’m not a yarn snob and use pretty much anything that is handed to me. Although I prefer knitting with 100% wool, I was lucky enough to receive free samples of some extraordinary new fibers being offered by Lion Brand Yarn.

LB Collection One Hundred Percent Cashmere

Feast your eyes on One Hundred Percent Cashmere. Yes, you heard right. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CASHMERE. I couldn’t believe my luck. I only have one ball of each color, less than 85 yards, so I am looking for some very small, yet luxurious projects. If you know of something that would fit the bill, please let me know. I would love to hear your ideas.

LB Collection Cotton Bamboo

I also received four skeins of LB Collection Cotton Bamboo which I think could work nicely for hand towels from Mason Dixon Knitting. These have a substantial 245 yards per skein and come in quite a few bright and beautiful colors.

Lion Brand Yarn Sock-Ease

Last but not least, I got a ball of Sock-ease, always welcome as you know what a voracious sock knitter I am.

I want to point out that the “LB Collection” yarns are only available online and not at your local retailer but you can check out the Lion Brand website for lots of yarns, patterns and ideas.

I’m always grateful for free yarn. My sincere thanks to Carla, Nicole and Lion Brand Yarn.
