I finished another pair of handknit socks! I’m smokin’!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the fourth pair of handknit socks for 2009:

I have decided to rename these socks Reptilian because they remind me of lizard skin.
You may remember that they started life as Nutkin and you can see that one sock is “greener” than the other with a yellower tint. What happened is this: about two inches into the second sock I was dismayed to discover a knot. I then ripped the sock back and cast on with the new dye lot as it were. In essence I was knitting with two dye lots.
Two dye lots in one skein…hmmm…very interesting.
I still love love LOVE Pagewood Farm sock yarn and highly recommend it.
I should note here that my version of Nutkin is heavily modified. Instead of the foldover cuff in the pattern, I opted for 2×2 rib and the toe is the standard plain vanilla toe – not the one described in the pattern.
Here is my lovely and oh so cooperative model, Katrina and here is her lovely “recession pedicure”.
We all have to give something up these days, right?

I just finished the felted nesting bowls to give my Mom for Mother’s Day. I love them! I am going to make another set. Thanks for the pattern.
