Self-portrait in a lucky handknit lace cowl

Self portrait in the Good Luck Cowl

I’m not a photogenic person. As a matter of fact I’ve been told I’m better looking in person and I believe that’s true. But sometimes there just isn’t anyone around to model and since I’ve been wearing this cowl almost non-stop since I finished it, the most likely to model was me! Note to self: Do NOT model first thing in the morning before shower of coffee. That’s when I look the worst! Hah! And yes, it’s slightly out of focus – the only way to look at me on a day like this…

Good Luck Cowl in Colinette Jitterbug, color Ginger Cinnabar

Needless to say I’m really loving the Good Luck Cowl and like I said before, I can’t believe that this is my first cowl. It’s so handy and efficient and toasty warm. It’s one of the best accessories I’ve ever made for myself. And why should yarn as lovely as this be relegated to the feet? It should be worn front and center for all the world to admire. :-)

I’m not done with Jitterbug yet. Remember I still have a pair of socks coming in ginger cinnabar which are almost finished. But in a departure for me, I bought some Pagewood Farms hand dyed sock yarn in green of all colors! It’s actually called “Ireland” and they’re going to become March socks which I think is appropriate. Might even try Nutkin again.

Before I leave you I want to commemorate two great men born on this day 200 years ago. Charles Darwin and Abraham Linclon. Happy Birthday!
