Knitty Kitties
Posted on Feb 8, 2009 in knit, knitting

The first time I went to the house of Liz, a good friend and knitting buddy that I met at the Wednesday Night Knitting group, I was bowled over by the baskets of handknit kitties that greeted me as I walked through the front door. The “origami” kitties as Liz called them were made by Liz’s mother, Helen Fields, and they are truly awe inspiring. Not only are they knit from Helen’s own super soft handpun in a multitude of gorgeous colors, they are also embellished with wonderful embroidery stitches and each little kitty seems to have a personality of its own. This guy pictured I have dubbed the “South American Kitty”.
During my recent visit I also made the acquaintance of Dylan, Liz’s outgoing and friendly cat who insisted on being the star of the photo shoot. I positively adore his cross-eyed blue eyes.

WOW, these are so cute – they are the perfect thing to add to any kids package! Thanks!

Thanks for sharing. I had seen a similar kitty next to the register of the LYS, and tried to photo-eyeball memorize…ha!

My mother is amazing and my sister is wonderful! I am blessed to have them in my life. Well done photos, too.
